The garden is finally in, I went home for the long weekend and came back to a nicely planted garden that two of my housemates worked on! We have a great selection of tomatoes, zucchini, spinach, peas and carrots, lets just hope this mountain of soil grows a majestic garden. But let me tell you that Guelph's planting zone is 5b, 5B! Where I'm originally from (up north) you would never consider buying those beautiful colourful flowered plants because our soil is around a 3b..thats brutal. 

Annnd yesterday on my way home from orientation at the ovc I came across this sign written "free" on it, what was below this sign were framed screens and windows! Clever as I am I asked my housemate to walk back with me to bring them back to our garden. The other morning we had a discussion about getting some kind of fence for our garden because of the over population of wild rabbits and skunk, so instead were going to use these screens and windows to build a barrier around the garden. After this rain stops I'll finish digging them in and take a picture...

May 2-4

So after my first week of mcat courses from 6 to 9pm and a some daily readings, it's going ok. Mcats are series of test that allows you to apply your knowledge to given situation. There's also this essay part in which they give us a statement and we write up a thesis,antithesis and a synthesis and let me tell you..I suck at it. I definitely need more practice at this thing called "writing" and to learn how to spell because there's no spellcheck on this test, and I LIVE for spellcheck. I'll also add that I have no calculator for this test....I think if I was a doctor I would still use a calculator.
So lets talk a little about desserts, after my class I came back to a half eaten pot-luck and came across this simple yet creative dessert, but I can say I topped it off a little.


All you need: Ice cream Sandwich bars (box of 24 works), Ice cream (optional) and Nutella (optional)

Place the sandwich bars beside each other (double layer it, if you wish), and that's really it. If you want to top it off like I did, cover the top with ice cream, flatten it like you would with icing. Melt the Nutella and make a funky design and cover it with sprinkles or chocolate if you wish. And Voila! Easy dessert!

ps. Bon Iver's album  leaked early on itunes and my friend was able to grab a few tunes, and let me tell you, this album is good. Make sure you listen to Wash when it comes out. Here's one of their new tune Calgary.

This blog has been lacking a little bit of blog love, but that's ok because we're just beginning to enter exam periode and that means No facebook, and lots of other means of procrastination. Including this summer I will be doing my mcats and staying in Guelph, I'm currently debating on getting a job or not and if I don't there might just be hope for this blog after all!
